Mandy’s Family’s Brown Rice

3 ingredients that you just dump into a baking dish and throw in the oven to have a yummy side dish for your dinner?? Yes, please!!! BUT WAIT… want to take it to the next level? Add a 4th ingredient - BUTTER! Yes, butter. 1/2 a stick cut into pats. More details below.

This makes about 8 servings.

This recipe has been in my family for many years and we always make it for every holiday!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice

  • 1 can beef consommé

  • 1 can French onion soup

  • 1/2 stick butter, cut into pats (optional)

Here’s how to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Add 1st 3 ingredients to a 2 quart baking dish and stir to combine. Top with pats of butter (if using).

  • Cover and bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes.
